Week One Video: 30 Day Parkour Challenge: March 2016

Video and additional explanation of week one of my 30 day challenge.

The first week was a short week. I used it to get into the mode of training. Its been nice to get out more and work on some new kinds of movement, however I quickly found out how out of shape I am in.

Like I state in the video the one day I went to the park I didn't feel so good. I'm not sure if it's just from the training or other things that are going on in my life. Either way I felt really deteriorated and broken down trying to do some arm workouts that day.

A meal I had this week:
2 Eggs, Hash-browns w/ Ketchup, 4 Slices of Ham,
Cheese tortilla, Plumb, Banana, And Chocolate Milk.

One thing I am keeping in mind is how much I am eating. I'm trying to get in more protein to help give my body some weight to put into muscle. I mentioned in my last post how I haven't been able to put on this muscle. This could be due to the running I do. Its easy for me to go out and run 6 or more miles. I'm not consistent at my running, like everyday, but I think that the activity that I do burns away much of my potential mass for muscle. That and/or I just don't work out to build stronger muscles anyway.

Saturday was a great day. There was a Jam planned by Hunter, Kolby and Taylor. I met up with them for a while till more people showed up. The area we were at was a new spot for me, so it was nice to explore. There are some great places for some good Strides and Plyos which I'll be utilizing lots. The Footage at the beginning of my Week one Video if from the Jam.

We ended up going to a park for a bit. While there I ended up falling of a bar from pretty high up trying to do a ginger flip. Christian Russel said my face was really composed while falling. I was having difficult figuring out how to do the push. I'm too used to pushing with both hands, instead of one. Plus where I could push was kinda low. The big reason why I landed on my head was more due to slipping when I jumped. Everyone was watching which was a little embarrassing. The fall was into mulch. As I impacted I landed mostly on my arm and side with my elbow bent. My head whip-lashed into the mulch. It was actually a pretty good break-fall. Considering I fell upsidown from 6-8 foot up.

For week 2 I'm doing a lot of arm strengthening. My plan is to work on this all week, and continue doing these sorts of workouts for the rest of the month. My final goal is to have a better Climb up and Muscle up.
